Hello! My name is Emmanuella Onyinyechi Osuebi-Iyke. I am here to help you and your organization reach your sustainability goals. I hold a PhD in Environmental Science, and an MBA focused on Sustainability reporting and a certificate in Sustainability and Social Innovation.
My journey began in Nigeria, where my fascination with the environment was kindled during my formative years. As a child, I would marvel at the vibrant flora and fauna, particularly finding joy in watching plants grow. This early passion for nature shaped the trajectory of my life.
My academic pursuits have always revolved around understanding ecological interactions and working towards a more sustainable world. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Plant Science and Biotechnology from the University of Nigeria and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Trier in Germany. Recently, I defended my PhD thesis at the University of Luxembourg, where I explored the cost-benefit ratios of plant resource acquisition under varying environmental conditions.
During my academic journey, I realized a significant disconnect between the scientific community and corporate organizations concerning climate change and environmental sustainability. While scientific research underscored the urgency of preserving our environment, many corporations were just beginning to grasp the potential risks of ignoring this advice. This realization led me to the conclusion that bridging the gap between science and society was crucial to the pursuit of a sustainable future.
To address this gap, I embarked on a mission to earn a business degree alongside my PhD. I completed my Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on sustainability at Wrecsam Glyndwr University. My thesis on sustainability reporting strategies in the finance sector exemplified my commitment to uniting science and business for the greater good.
In 2021, my journey as a sustainability consultant began. It started with advising individuals on sustainable living and evolved to guiding small businesses on how to operate sustainably without compromising their profitability. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve had the privilege of advising over 15 businesses on strategy improvement, change management, waste reduction, and ESG reporting. I’ve also had the opportunity to coach two speakers to deliver impactful TED talks on sustainable finance as a project member of the TEDx University of Luxembourg.
My journey is characterized by scientific curiosity, an unwavering dedication to sustainability, and a commitment to driving positive change. My story isn’t just one of personal achievement; it’s a guiding light for organizations and individuals seeking a more sustainable and responsible future. As a critical thinker armed with a formidable set of problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, I utilize my scientific knowledge and business training as powerful tools to lead organizations toward sustainable development.
